Vanilla para Mac

Works great, went pro. I like it—although Big Sur helps—I really prefer having the option of both. And the last update made fixed the minor glitches it had before. Great name, great icon, great app.

this software is excellent and free with very good support and quick updates from the developer.... i really can not understand all these negative reviews

Just search for "Hidden Bar" on MacUpdate and download it instead. It's free, open source, and works great.

The Pro version is $5. Here is a list of its features: - - "Vanilla will never nag you to upgrade, but if you’d like, you can unlock the Pro version to reach peak Mac minimalism. - - • Perfect your menu bar by completely hiding icons, • Hide any app icon from your Mac’s menu bar, • Compatible with light and dark menu bars, • Automatically hide icons again after five seconds, • Start Vanilla automatically when you log in, • Toggle icons with a keyboard shortcut, (Seriously, I use this with Command-Shift-< like forty times a day. Get Pro just for this.)"

Regret my purchase of this paid app, very buggy, constantly hides menu items from the apps I'm using or leaves a weird "Desktop 1" artifact in the center of my screen.
